BOM Weather Radar – Taroom

As part of the Federal Government’s $28 million weather monitoring allocation for North West Queensland, idec was engaged by the Bureau of Meteorology and GHD to build a new S-Band Doppler Weather Radar at Taroom. Located in regional Queensland, the project presented a number of challenges which our team were able to overcome due to our specialisation in remote infrastructure.

As Principal Contractor, idec was responsible for the delivery of all civil works, concrete, tower installation, construction of the equipment building and radar support facility and the installation of the radar/radome.
