idec welcomed in the new decade with a strong emphasis on our commitment to minimizing our carbon footprint and increasing our overall business efficiencies. Integral to this commitment has been the installation of a 277-panel, 100 kilowatt PV system on our office and workshop in Murarrie. This system will produce 160,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity each year, reducing our overall reliance on the grid by half, with the vision to be extended in the future. In addition to this, other initiatives have been implemented including the use of Power Factor Correction (PFC) throughout our premises – reducing appliance power loss and increasing efficiencies. The PFC initiative reduced our electricity usage by over 30% in FY18/19. We are also proud to announce that we have signed the Australian Steel Institute’s Environmental Sustainability Charter (ESC), driving meaningful improvement in our environmental footprint. idec Solutions is committed to our environment and strives to become industry leaders in this space.
