Idec has been awarded the contract for the structural steel detailing, fabrication, and erection of stairs, tree columns, and footbridge packages as part of the Buranda Train Station’s Accessibility Upgrade. Buranda Station, situated in southern Brisbane, serves as a key transportation hub, intersected by Logan and Ipswich Roads and the Southeast Busway, which includes the Buranda Busway Station.
Buranda Station is a commuter station with two platforms and a freight line serving the Port of Brisbane. To the north lie the Queensland Rail commuter car park and commercial businesses.
The upgrades aim to significantly improve accessibility for all customers, with a focus on individuals with impaired mobility. Key features include modern stairs and a state-of-the-art pedestrian footbridge with lift access. These additions will revolutionize the accessibility experience, ensuring ease of movement for everyone.
Idec is honoured to contribute to this project and thanks Laing O’Rourke and Queensland Rail for the opportunity to ensure the highest quality for the Buranda Station Accessibility Upgrade.
